In most houses at least 50 percent of the energy consumed is dedicated to heating of the rooms. All split units by Qlima have a reversible heat pump. A heat pump system will keep your house cool in summer and may be used in winter to warm up your home in a highly energy-efficient manner.
How does it work?
As opposed to traditional heating systems, this one is not based on the burning of fuel, but on the displacement of warmth. This way, the system is able to combine low energy consumption with a high heating capacity. Compared to an electrical heater, the efficiency of the heat pump is four times higher.
A heat pump is operated on electricity, yet it consumes a lot less of it than a high-efficiency boiler. The efficiency of these pumps is very high, which is indicated by the Coefficient of Performance, or (S)COP. The number provided here indicates the ratio between the amount of energy required by the pump and the amount of heat given off by it. Suppose the COP would be 1, this would mean that the heat pump requires the same amount of energy as the heat provided by it. Most Qlima pumps have a (S)COP of between 3.5 and 4.5. In other words: an efficiency of between 350 and 450 percent!
